Fort Washington, Maryland

I am now the second owner of Miata LE car # 36 of 1,500.  I have the original owner's letter from Mazda to him with the vehicle's VIN with the key chain fob that has # 36 of 1,500.  It was purchased in Ohio yesterday and I drove it back home to Maryland.  The car is now at my home in Maryland near Washington, DC.  This 1993 Miata LE has 84K original miles and is in excellent shape for both the interior and exterior.  It adds to the collection in my garage which already has a 1995 Merlot M-Edition which I bought brand new and a 1994 red leather C-package Miata bought used in 2004.  I have attached photos below.

Have a great day!

As I got reading into the websites regarding the 1993 Miata LE, I started looking for one.  In early January 2008, I test drove my first 1993 Miata LE in Arlington, Virginia and was considering buying it but my roommate Mike talked some sense in me because very sadly, that 1993 Miata LE car was dented all around, had serious rust on the lower panel underneath both doors and also in front of both the rear tires, missing driver side tweeter speaker, some cracks on the lower dash by the driver side, the MSSS stereo worked except for the CD player which kept ejecting the CD disk, passenger visor was broken and the air bag sensor kept flashing!  I wish I had jotted down the VIN number so that the registry would have accounted for that vehicle.  The used car dealer wanted $3,300 for it.

There are two other 1993 Miata LEs that I've spotted.  1)  The St. Charles Nissan dealership in Chicago, IL area is selling one for $4,995 with approximately 81K miles.  I didn't get it because the car had an after market CD player which I feared the wiring harness was cut and it had a roll bar which means the vehicle was autocrossed raced and holes drilled into the vehicle.  While the outside paint looked immaculate, the interior is more faded than my # 36 of 1,500 that I now have.  I want my LE to be OEM factory no modifications.  2)  There is a person in New Jersey on Autotrader.com selling a 1993 Miata LE with 5K original miles for $16K.  This model is in pristine condition and comes with all of the goodies that come with the LE in mint condition.  I don't know the VIN number for both cars however.

I took my car in for Maryland inspection today.  My LE needed a new catalytic converter but other than that, the previous owner, Mr. Charles Straub, Jr. kept it in excellent condition!  I have his original letter from Mazda regarding car # 36 and I have the Miata books (my second set actually), the 1993 Owner's Manual and the key fob # 36 of 1,500!  To answer your question, I live in Fort Washington, MD near Washington, DC.

The black 1993 Miata LE will definitely be used for going to the opera, ballet or ballroom dancing especially when I'm wearing a black tuxedo for these venues!  I will try to minimize the mileage on the LE because of how special this car is!  The red 1994 Miata C-package tan leather is actually my daily driver for work or when I want to look real sporty.  I almost bought a red with tan but was fortunate to be at the Mazda dealership in March 1995 when the merlot 1995 M-Edition first became available.  It is driven sparingly only has 72K original miles because that is my very first Miata I bought originally brand new in March 1995!  It was my daily driver until I got the 1994 red tan leather Miata in April 2004, ended up replacing all of the major components on that car including a rebuilt engine in May 2004 which is why I can use it as a daily driver without worrying of mechanical breakdowns.  I only use the 1995 M-Edition if there is a very special occasion!

Sorry for rambling on and on.  Thought I'd feed some information to you.  Thanks for adding me to the 1993 Miata LE registry!  Take care for now!
